Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions:

1. Preparing the Meatball Mixture:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped onion, chopped parsley, beaten egg, salt, black pepper, dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  • Mix the ingredients together until well combined, being careful not to overwork the meat mixture.
